An adept

The adept is a protoss ground ranged unit.

Overview

Adepts are hired as ranged units to assist zealots that focus on close-range combat. Exclusively as female warriors of Aiur infantry, they usually engage in attacking enemy mining units to harass the mineral and gas allocation. The use of Psionic Transfer allows them to evade the incoming vengeful enemies or to surprise-attack the defenseless units when their psionic "spirits" travel faster without being seen, even by detector units.

Useful in harassment tactics at the beginning of the battle, they play a greater role in basic combats as long as they are building newer and stronger infantry and upgrades.

Adepts appeared at the beginning of Season 5 to coincide with the release of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.

Appearance

Adepts wear golden armor and helmet that covers around their head and chin. They are armed with glaive cannons on their right limb. Torso armor is colored grey over the golden metallic plate. For further details they wear team-colored capes and a horn-shaped decorative plate on their backs.
