Crude Brood is the twenty-second episode in the second season of StarCrafts. It is the forty-seventh episode overall.
Plot[]
The episode starts with five hydralisks crawling toward the main protoss base. However, the force field is cast on the ramp to block them. After its time-out, another force field is cast at the same time. The blockage is repeating at which one of the hydralisks is annoyed. Two sentries giggle as they delay the zerg attack.
A flock of four brood lords with two adjacent broodlings each fly by. One of them slings a broodling to knock a sentry, followed by another on second sentry. Alarmed, the stalkers flee. Brood lord twirls another broodling and throws it at the gateway. Suddenly, torrent of broodlings floods the base. A broodling tries to snarl the colossus holding on the robotics facility but the colossus taps it off.
Stalkers decide to move towards the brood lords. They use blink to reach the attack range, but they end up dropping themselves off the cliff, meeting their demise on a swarm of hydralisks.
A brood lord drops a heavy load of broodlings over the protoss base and happily dances by the background music's beat as the protoss base has been destroyed.
Meanwhile in a very distant twilight planet, the tempest charges up its kinetic matrix into a massive sphere and releases it. The sphere travels intergalactically and falls into the planet where the battle takes place. It hits the dancing brood lord directly, eradicating the swarm and other brood lords.

- While the first unit was introduced in Season 1 episode, "Heart of the Swarm Opening", viper.
- A dark templar can be seen crushed by a toppled dark shrine, ironically.
- Mineral Overlord can be seen on the background where the stalkers march towards the brood lords.
- Two G's can be seen within the massive load of broodlings dropped by the last brood lord, which stands for "Good Game."
- It was first used in "Win of the Century," by one of the hydralisks when outnumbered.
- New environment is introduced when tempest makes its appearance, twilight.
In-game Refrences[]
- Tempest's armament of kinetic matrix making its intergalactic attack range and perfect aiming is an exaggeration when it continuously travels throughout the in-game battle area until edge of the map.
- Brood lords' unlimited spawning of broodling is also an exaggeration when they produce energy-free broodlings as a main armament.
Cultural references[]
- Tempest's attack may be a reference to Dragon Ball Z's super spirit bomb.
