Dragoon is the basic four-legged walk ordnance unit of the protoss.

Overview

Dragoons are the first army unit available for the cyborg protoss. They may not be the most common protoss unit, but they are probably the most known.

Appearance

Dragoons in StarCrafts possess a simpler design than in the games. Their armor is a simply-drawn golden-colored outfit with minimum ornamentation that covers everything but their heads. They also visibly lack nerve cords. However, like other protoss.

Like other units, their design in StarCrafts receives changes by time to time. Their changes, however, are more noticeable than others'. Their eyes, like other protoss units, are two conjoined, team-colored circles that change shape accordingly based on emotion. In the third season(christmas special 2014) and fourth season(Broodwar Era), they are two triangles drawn very close together. Their team-colored ornament in their chest is drawn as an individual piece in the middle of their torso. Before, it is connected by two lines to their collar. Their upper lower limb used to be a blue line until it is colored gold like most of their outfit. They are also shorter and stubbier than older designs, evidenced in Carbot's Starcraft Remastered trailer.

Just like in the game, they are zealous warriors and are usually enraged, befitting their name. They are also seen frowning and "heard" screaming most of the time. They have refined combat skills after years of training, just like what is described in canon. Their design also features their iconic armament: psi-blades. However, theirs are rarely turned off and are usually confused as their hands. Oddly, everything they touch or grab with the blades is rarely cut through or at least burn, and the latter two only happen if they actively use said Energy Ball to attack.
