Zealot

Zealot is the basic infantry unit of the protoss.

Overview

Zealots are the first ground unit available for the Protoss in gateways/warp gates. They may not be the most common Protoss unit, but they are probably the most known.

Once they receive charge boots, they are able to sprint into battles with high-speed movement. Valorously, they raise their arms in V-position, preparing their psi blades, and run towards the target. They utter war cries during the effect.

Appearance

Zealots in DiabLol possess a simpler design than in their games. Their armor is a simply-drawn yellow-colored outfit with minimum ornamentation that covers everything but their heads. They also visibly lack nerve cords. However, like the other races, they have no mouths and visible ears.

Like other units, their design in StarCrafts receives changes from time to time. Their changes, however, are more noticeable than others'. Their eyes, like other protoss units, are conjoined, team-colored circles that change shape depending on their emotion. In the first season, they are two triangles drawn very close together. Their team-colored ornament in their chest is drawn as an individual piece in the middle of their torso. Before, it is connected by two lines to their collar. Their upper-lower limb used to be having a black line until it is colored gold like most of their outfit. They are also shorter and stubbier than older designs, evidenced in "Starcraft Remastered Teaser".

Just like in the game, they are zealous warriors and are usually enraged, befitting their name. They are also seen frowning and "heard" screaming most of the time. They have refined combat skills after years of training, just like what is described in canon. Their design also features their iconic armament: the psi blades. However, theirs are rarely turned off and are usually confused as hands. Oddly, everything they touch or grab with the blades is rarely cut through or at least burn, and the latter two only happen if they actively use said blades to attack.

Trivia

• Being well-known as a unit of protoss, only Bob the Ragelot is an iconic zealot character in CarBot Animations's StarCrafts series.
